PERSONALIZED
PHONE STANDS

These are personalized phone stands I have designed and built for various friends and family. Each one is the first initial of the individual’s name.

M STAND

Live Edge Maple

The first stand designed and built. I did not model or make any schematics to follow and did not have any access to a woodshop, so I was limited to using only hand tools and sandpaper.

The user can charge their phone via the gap in the legs. The semi-circular cut at the back of the base allows for a charging cable to be run underneath without coming in contact with the wood and causing it to wobble.

The stand is portable - it is easily assembled and disassembled using a simple slot joint.

 C STAND

Walnut and Birds-Eye Maple

Modelled in SolidWorks beforehand and used the orthographic drawings to help cut it more accurately.

The ability to charge is maintained through bottom of the C, as well as the ability to take it apart for portability.

The feet of the base counteract most of the wobbling from the curved bottom, but a chamfer was added to prevent any instability.

Z STAND

Maple

To maintain the chargeability the Z was stylized by adding a curve to the top and bottom, giving enough space for a standard cable.

The Z did not allow for a slot-together design, so the base is a friction fit with the angle keeping the base from sliding out.

S STAND

Walnut

Creating the initials S.S., the second initial was implemented into the base.

The S shape easily allows a charging cable to be run through while a phone is sitting on the stand.

The bottom of the stand was chamfered on a sander so it would sit flat with no wobbling.
