ABOUT
My name is Connor Charlton and I am in my fourth year of my Bachelor of Industrial Design at Carleton University, while minoring in Entrepreneurship at the Sprott School of Business. I am a dedicated and hard working student with a 10.79 CGPA.
Before coming to Carleton I graduated from Algonquin College with a diploma in Welding and Fabrication Techniques, as well as passing a CWBA test for SMAW - Flat Position.
I was previously the Vice President of Academics for CIDSA - the Carleton Industrial Design Student Association.
I am a very creative person, and greatly enjoy challenging myself and pushing the boundaries of my skills. I am always looking for opportunities to learn new information, skills, and topics, and am constantly pushing myself outside my comfort zone.
My interests in the field of design are broad, but mainly lie around sustainability and user interaction. Many of my personal projects revolve around designing things specifically for aesthetic and visual reasons, my main design motivators are the end user and product life cycle. The most important part of design is to ensure the user has the best possible experience with whatever product they are using, which means focusing on ergonomics and user interface.
Outside of school I enjoy casual sports and physical activities, as well as woodworking projects and making music. I am a huge plant enthusiast and have carefully nurtured a jungle within my apartment, which is home to over 25 different tropical plants - most of which I have grown from small cuttings.
