IDENTIFYING THE PROBLEM
Having cooking utensils crammed into a drawer or holder makes it difficult to find the desired item, with the potential of multiple items falling out when one utensil is removed.
Separating utensils during storage keeps them from getting caught and intertwined, while being able to easily access the desired item during cooking process.
SOLUTION
A helix utensil stand that allows utensils to be stored apart from one another, avoiding the hassle of freeing tangled items from a full container or drawer.
Utensils are hung neatly in a cascading swirl, with a stand height of 36cm.
QUANTITY OF UTENSILS
Has nine holes, with the the very top of the spiral able to hold a large utensil - like a pair of scissors.
SUPPORTS A VARIETY
Holes are 3cm in diameter, allowing utensils with a thicker handle to be stored comfortably.
SIZE
Lowest utensil hole is 20cm from the base, allowing enough space for long utensils to hang freely.
MANUFACTURING
The stand would be fabricated from 4mm stock, made from anodized aluminum, stainless steel, or copper.
Manufacturing would be through bending, followed by punching out the holes.
The holes narrow towards the edge to prevent utensils falling out, while still allowing the slimmer portion of utensils to be passed through.
The wide hole size allows even the largest of cooking spoons to be stored.
